사정상 조금 급한 알림입니다. 2004년도 2학기부터 12개월간 우리 학과에서 강의하실 수 있는 영어권 외국인 교수님을 구하고 있습니다. Global governance, American government, International planning 등의 주제로 된 강의를 하시도록 기대하고 있으며, 월 급여는 대략 510만원 정도입니다.

URGENT NOTICE!!

The Department of Public Administration at Kyungpook National University (KNU) in Daegu, Korea, is urgently seeking applications for the position of international visiting professor with great enthusiasm and motivation to experience Korean society and college. This is a 12-month position; there is a possibility for the position to be extended for a longer time with some adjustment.

The ideal candidate should: a) be a native English speaker. b) have a Ph.D. in public administration, political science, urban policy, or other related fields. c) be able to develop a syllabus and teach courses that can be entitled Global Governance, American Government, Comparative Public Administration, Urban Planning in Global Context; etc. Those candidates who have published his or her articles in refereed journals in the related profession are preferred.

The monthly payment will be approximately five million won (about four thousand U.S. dollars). The university guesthouse can be provided at reasonable price; office, personal computer, library access and, particularly, active interactions with seven English-speaking faculty members and several hundred students are just few of the privileges that the visiting professor will enjoy.

The KNU is the biggest and the oldest university in the city as well as in the neighboring provinces. Daegu, the third largest metropolitan city in the Republic of Korea, is located about 180 miles south of Seoul, the nation’s capital. (Thanks to the newly launched KTX express train, it takes only one hour and 40 minutes from Seoul to the city.) A host of the 2002 World Cup Soccer Game and the 2003 Summer Universiade, Daegu is well known for numerous tourist attractions in the vicinity, including Gyeongju, the one thousand year old ancient city.
